As Principal VSO, Barry draws on his vast experience in security risk management and incident management to provide expert consultancy advice and leadership to wide range of New Zealand businesses.

Barry has more than 15 years’ experience in the security industry and has held numerous highly-regarded positions within a wide range of organisations. He was previously Manager of Security Policy at the Domain Name Commission Ltd (DNCL) and prior to this he was Head of Consultancy Services at the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) National Cyber Security Centre.

Barry is an active participant in the New Zealand InfoSec community and has been a member of the New Zealand Internet Task Force (NZITF) Board since 2009, and Chair since 2014. He has also been a Board member of the Information Security Awards NZ (iSANZ) since 2014.

In his spare time Barry likes to restore and ride vintage Italian motor scooters; and has toured much of New Zealand on a motorcycle. He enjoys the outdoors, travel and watching the rugby.

His focus is building a new,  unorthodox people management platform built with the user journey as its guide, and the betterment of an organisation’s people and culture as its drivers. His passion is for software that improves people, their connections with others, and the place they work.

Dianna Taylor

Dianna Taylor currently works for the NZ Racing Board as GM Technology, this is a new sector for her and provides plenty of new and similar technology challenges across a large and complex business.

Prior to this she has gained over 20 years’ experience in the banking and financial services industry, most recently working as Chief Information Officer at Kiwibank. While at Kiwibank, Dianna led the consolidation and streamlining of Kiwibank’s operational banking functions, headed the development of the strategic technology roadmap that underpins Kiwibank’s strategy, and as CIO was accountable for enabling Kiwibank to continue to deliver its strategic business objectives, which are heavily predicated on technology deliverables.

Dianna has also worked for IAG New Zealand, ANZ, and Techtonics Group in a number of technology-related roles, including Head of Service & Operations for ANZ’s National Financial Group, and Manager, Infrastructure and Operations for IAG.

Outside of work Dianna is a passionate fitness enthusiast, competing in multi-sport events in New Zealand and internationally.

Evelyn Wareham

Evelyn Wareham is a self-confessed data zealot and a strong believer in the strategic power of data to change lives. She has explored the opportunities, risks, principles and roadmap for data sharing and use in New Zealand through her role on the NZ Data Futures Forum and on a New Zealand government leadership fellowship to the UK and USA. As Chief Data and Insights Officer for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), Evelyn has been growing governance, strategy and capability to help MBIE to get its data engine in gear. At Stats NZ, she led the rapid expansion of New Zealand’s Integrated Data Infrastructure, as a world-leading hub of anonymised, person-centred data for trusted access for statistical and analytical research. She also led the delivery of Statistics NZ’s online data for customers, including its drive to open its data. Evelyn has strong knowledge of privacy and a particular interest in the social license for data sharing and use.

Jannat Maqbool

Jannat Maqbool is a lecturer in the Centre for Business, IT and Enterprise at one of New Zealand's largest and leading Institutes of Technology, Wintec. She is a CPA and is currently completing a Masters in Digital Business at Waikato University.

Jannat has extensive experience managing mid to large-scale technology adoption initiatives, including introducing the first online origination, credit risk assessment and pricing vehicle finance platform in New Zealand for MTF, in 2005, in collaboration with FiNZsoft, a world leading FinTech solutions provider based in Auckland.

She joined Wintec in Hamilton in 2009 and has coordinated several collaborative projects and applied research initiatives involving students, staff and the wider community.

Jannat launched Wintec’s IoT Waikato initiative in 2017, a group for innovators, thought leaders and organisations interested in developing the Internet of Things and digital technology in the region, and recently lead the execution of TechWeek Waikato ’18 for Waikato Innovation Park.

Since the launch of IoT Waikato Jannat has been facilitating digital technology pilots and digital transformation initiatives in the Waikato focused on leveraging technology in innovative ways to benefit individuals, organisations and communities.

Jannat Maqbool is passionate about continuous improvement and the role that IT plays in improving operational efficiency and enabling business growth as well as its importance for innovation in both a business and wider context.

Europe, Director Home, Garden and Toys for Amazon UK as well as Director and VP roles for BT PLC, Mothercare LTD and Electrocomponents PLC.

Jen is a proponent of customer focused business strategies and has been involved in virtually all aspects of setting up and running businesses and BU’s focused on growing digital operations profitably. Her passion lies in technology, (big) data and teams and how to get the optimal mix behind great products and services that really make a difference to the customer. Jen is accountable for all digital/technological resources within Genesis and has complete ownership of the establishment and execution of Genesis Energy-wide IT strategy, ensuring its alignment with the Company’s business strategy and delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

Jen believes delivering an experience is a team exercise and we all play a part. She is committed to driving the digital strategy by understanding broad industry, sector and technology and customer trends and bringing this knowledge and future vision to assist with business model re-design, business process re-engineering, product and services development and support for competitive advantage. John Holley is a senior Operational/ICT professional with a track record of successfully leading and delivering innovative/transformational business change projects. He is currently the Head of Operational Strategy and Relationships for the Graeme Dingle Foundation, having previously held a series of executive roles in business technology and ICT. He is also the Commander Reserves for TRADOC (NZ) in the New Zealand Army. He was a planning officer for the UN Mission in South Sudan for seven months in 2013/14, and was the planning officer for a NZ Army Battalion in East Timor in 2001/2. He is a board member for ChildFund NZ and Accelerating Aotearoa. He has also been a board chair for for two schools.

Dr. Mahsa Mohaghegh is a computer engineer with a background in artificial intelligence and natural language processing. Since 2013, Mahsa has been involved with Google’s Computer Science for High Schools initiative, and has run these workshops in Auckland for the last 4 years. Mahsa is also the founder and director of the women’s technology group She# - shesharp.co.nz, a platform aimed at promoting STEM to the next generation, and creating networking opportunities for tertiary students and industry professionals in the digital sector.

Her passion for promoting careers in technology to young women has been widely recognised, and she has received a number of nominations and awards for her efforts, including the Emerging Leader Award at the NZ Women of Influence Awards, and is also a semi-finalist for New Zealander of the Year 2018.

Jeff has held executive information leadership positions in ASX-20 organisations and has consulted to the leadership teams of some of the world’s most innovative organisations.

In the Asia Pacific market Jeff is responsible for the development and success of Oracle’s big data & analytics offerings, both in the cloud and on premise. Oracle is the world-leader in data solutions and Jeff is responsible for managing the big data business through the adoption of Oracle’s innovative products – engineered big data appliances, open source integration, seamless query across data formats, in-memory analytics – to help customers achieve their big data objectives.

Prior to his current appointment, Jeff led the business intelligence team for Australia’s largest general insurer through multiple organisational and technical enterprise-transformations as well as the largest insurance company merger in Australian history. Additionally, Jeff led the digital channel transformation of a leading niche insurance offering as well as consulting on data, digital and core-platform transformation strategies for a range of leading Asia Pacific organisations.

Jeff holds a degree in management and finance, with exceptional honours, from St. John’s University (USA). He is a regular speaker on big data & analytics vision, strategy, and execution.
